I carnt remeber why i was looking for “bug” related items from Cleanyourcar.co.uk, but it did list a few of the claying options you can do to your car. I havent really looked into it, but its not something i will be doing for a while. It takes a few hours just to apply the Zaino Z5 and Zaino Z8, once i have shampoo the car with the Meguiars Shampoo Plus. I was looking at the Mequiars Bug and Tar Remover, wondering if it will get rid of the bar marks on the wing mirrors since the Karcher 2.14 Preasure Washer didnt get rid of them. The Karcher was perfect at getting rid of the bird crap on the roof, as well as the dead bugs on the front of the car, near the bumper.
I am finding that the Z5 and Z8 does make the car really water repellant, but im still putting way to much on the car! Which will mean i will need to buy some more sooner then i should really. I think its mostly because i apply it each time after i wash. But i am thinking of getting the Zaino Z6 gloss enhancer spray to make hopefully make it stand out loads more. I think its mostly due to the fact its a bright red car that it doesnt work as well. If any place would of had the ZFX kit instock i would of allready had the Z6 allready. I think the only major issue is that Z5 and Z8 cost like £20 a bottle which is the only major problem.
I was looking for a different applicator pad, since the Zaino 100% cotton applicator pad works well. But i think it mostly soaks up way to much of the Z5 solution instead of spreading it over the car area you are trying to Polish. Saying that if i got one of the sponges like the Zaino – 6 or the Sonus SFX which are duel sided for multiple uses. I have been looking at other methods, one is the Hex-logic pads by Chemical Guys but theres allways more to something then you really think. Like the Sonus Foam applicators or the Meguiars Soft Foam pad.
I am also looking at the Snow Foam Lance’s, which was the major reason i bought the Karcher Preasure Washer. “A foam lance? Why are they useful? At the simplest level, a foam lance is any device that attaches to a pressure washer and mixes a shampoo-based product with the flow of water to produce thick clinging foam.”
After looking through a few different websites, you can either buy a Gilmour Foamaster II Pro Foam Gun which connects to a Hose pipe directly, but it mostly just foams and doesnt do the same job as a Snow Foam Lance. Its a lot weaker due to the fact it doesnt put out a lot of preasure. Its a simlar price point at £51.07 with 1 Litre of Snow Foam. You can buy the Snow Foam Lances in a 500ml or a 1Liter version, they are usually called Heavy Duty Foam Lance and come with 6 different types of connectors, for different types of preasure washers e.g. Bosch, Karcher, Karcher HDS Pro, Kew/Alto, Kranzle, Lavour. EDP currently sell it for £49.95 with a 1 Liter of Snow Foam, but all the companys usually will give 1 Litre of Snow Foam Free. They never really tell you what type you will receive. ECC offers it for £51.08,
Theres a top mounted dial, that allows you to adjust the range of the dilution, allowing you to tune the level of the foam produced.
A few places recommend Meguiars Hyper Wash to be used with the Lances, but its mixed opions really.
Theres Meguiars Ultimate Protectant (Dash & Trim Restorer) which prity much would of been usefull for the Astra since it had plastic on the outside of the car, where as the Cupra only really has plastic near the exhaust at the back. The inside of the car, has a few different bit of black plastic, but at the moment there not worth buying this stuff.
I was looking at Meguiars Ultimate Compound, and Meguiars ScratchX 2.0 for removeing a few fine scratchs, that where made by the T-Cut i used near the door handles, and at the bottom of the door trim. Im going to try it on the bottom door trim first, to see what its like. I was thinking of getting both of them, but i dont think the Compound will do what i think it will. The scratch above the passenger side back wheel carnt be fixed, without respraying the panel. But i can use the ScratchX to do a few of the minor scratchs that have appeared near the front of the car. Its worth a try, since they are showing up as white marks and im slowly beliveing that the T-Cut is actually marking the paint work when i use it because its to abrasive!
