Nokia’s take on the touchscreen market, is to release a new touchcreen mobile named the “Tube”. I have to admit that the name is rather unusual, i have read before that the name would possiabily be the N98 or something simliar, but when you search out the N98 you do find other peceices of information relating to a different code name for the new suposed touchscreen mobile? But what i will admit is that no matter the name of the phone, the reports on how crap nokias show off version one. This isnt nokia first touchscreen mobile, they have released other versions that where more like tablets, that allways had a keyboard interface too. They havent ever released a touchscreen with a keypad on the actual screen, its just more a PDA feel that they have done in the past. But i have seen them floating about, they where the most expensive mobiles you could get, and nower days there just different N-series tablets like the new N810 thats being published all over the nokia website and the n-series website. But the N810 is only for American release, so i wont ever see it over here in the UK anyway.

I have added links to the bottom that go to Engadget and another website, to show off that i am not fakeing this lol. Nokias touchscreen mobile has been floating around with speculation for ages, but i jush wish they would release a spec list allready, so people would have a clue what they are getting. But either way, i dont think Nokia will kill the iPhone, for the simple reason. I Have read a atricle today that proved a series point. Its not a iPhone killer that people actually want, its a renevented iPhone with miles better features, but still the same type of easy to use interface. Its like compareing the Zen to the iPod. The Zen was a miles better device, but since it was miles thicker, didnt look that nice, and the interface was slightly buggy in certain aspects. Not many people wanted it, over the sex appeal of the iPod, which proves a point. Its not allways the amount of features you give a product, it can still allways be left without much hope lol.

What i dont get is the suposed woopy-do, that the phone will support Java, all Nokia N-series phones support Java so what gives? The suposed support or comment that it will support DVB-H mobile TV i think will be a no, even though the N96 has it, not many Nokia phones in the past have, only 2 other N-series one i am sure. But it should have Wi-Fi otherwise it wont compete with the iPhone, plus most N-series have Wi-Fi include standard, and so does GSP built-in too.

New LG?

I found this new black LG phone on Engadget today, it supost to be the thinest 5 megapixel camera available. Engadget hasnt found much info on the phone, but its supost to have a touchscreen which will be great, and hopefully Wifi, so i dont have to get the viewty, but i am suprised the veiwty has manual focus on the ring, i thought that was the zoom function. Unless the reviews are wrong, but i supose if they are that still makes the viewty in with a chance lol.

Im just compareing what phone to get next, and with the iPhone haveing a crappy 2 megapixel camera, it puts it in the dump bin since even though its the post phone to have?!? Its still way behind in the times of usefullness, specially since it carnt take videos either suposedly?!? But this new LG looks possiable for a lot of future prospect, depending what its real specs are!

Upgraded my 4GB to a 8GB Micro HC SD card from picstop.co.uk, i also ordered 2x 2GB SD cards, 1 for my Wii, and 1 for my Tomtom to store newer maps incase, plus at the price it doesnt really matter anyways.

But its awsome to have like 4GB of space free, well did lol, i just put a couple of new albums on there to make up a lot of difference, but to be fair i carnt even remeber what was on there before, which is why some of the albums where overided with newer versions of the songs haha. Buts its nice to have more free space then 500mb, and lets me just leave stuff on there now, like pictures and videos that i make lol. Well take lol, so im prity much free to use my phone in what ever way i want, and if i can get a update on the Tomtom software for my phone, ill proberely go back to useing that, but i do like haveing the new features on my Tomtom Go 520 so i can use postcode search, instead of messing about finding out the street names, house number, and area which makes it more awakard, when a postcode and house number is all you really need lol.

Ive been doing the usual hunting around for a memory upgrade for my phone, i have the N95 which most people know :P since it takes most of the pictures at work, which bugs some people, but does take some nice shots.

I currently have the 4gb SanDisk in there, but ive been looking at the 8gb one since the roumors of it working inside the N95 popped up, but never really seen it around. When i checked around Picstop.co.uk a month or so ago, they had the 6gb for around £45, but now since the 8gb one is out the 6gb has gone, and the 8gb has kinda taken its place. But the only real reason to upgrade is to never upgrade again i supose, with the space the 8gb can give me, i wouldnt fill it up that quick, the only reason the 4gb is that full is due to the map sizes. The 6gb was thought provoking, but didnt really see a point, but the 8gb sure would make a difference.

Finally got my Nokia N95 firmware upgraded, ive been on the same firmware since i bought the mobile. No matter which news post or feed that i read, theres allways a new firmware popping up somewhere, and its been a real pain. I admit i was on v11 something, which is higher, well was higher then some people who are still stuck on v10 with some mobile providers, which makes me wonder. Why do we have to suffer with outdated firmware, because the mobile providers carnt be bothered to take the firmware and just put there images in it, or strip out what they dont like allready? All they do is add there own theme, and thats about it really. I will admit, to actually upgrade my N95 to v20.0.015 i did have to change my code internaly, which does void the warranty, but for how easy it is to change the code, it wouldnt take to long to change it back. I could do it right now, and it wouldnt make a difference at all. It just seems a shame that to actually update your own firmware, your supost to use the Nokia Updater, but since your with a mobile provider the actual chances of you getting a new firmware, even if its a year old mobile, are like 1 in 1o, because the providers really carnt be bothered, unless its a serouise issues with the current firmware, and it would make more profitable sense to allow a upgrade.

Like when i had my N73 it had issues with turning itself off, freezing and other known issues, so i was quite suprised that after the first maybe 5 updates that i couldnt get, it allowed me a new one, then after that, the 10 updates i couldnt get at all, untill i sold it to my dad. Which it would of been easyer then to change the code inside the phone to a sim free one, like i did to my N95, so i could get the newest updates. Which the main reason i did it, was because the new firmware, is more then a release, it has some serouise updates which i have been missing for ages, which i havent been able to get, since some of the minor updates where in v12 which i havent seen, and are now improved in v20 with some new better features. I can also download the new msn client and possiable the new yahoo client, mostly the search program is upto date, which has been mostly out of commision for the past 4 months or so, and refuses to search, so ive had to download yells own search program, because the feature in the search program refuses to work at all!!!

Theres also a new New menu structure for new N95 V20 firmware which means most of the programs you dont use that much, are hidden away in some subfolders, but they do have there own swanky icons haha, which makes them stand out better against other programs i geuss. The main new features are the n-gage program which will make Nokia a bit of money, for people who like gaming, so it makes me wonder why they arent forceing mobile providers to check over the new firmware, and get it done out allready, so they can make some money, since there loseing out allready?!?

In my hunt for the codes/id codes to use in my N95 so it still seemed legal lmao, i used the euro 1 plum code since it closely matchs mine lol. I found a 1-7 step way to speed up your N95 or series 60 symbian mobile, its prity much all straight forward common sense, but it is usefull too.

There was also a new Beta program called Nokia Conversation, which looks really cool. Instead of going through your inbox and back to your sent box, going back and forth trying to figure out what you said to your friend, specially if you have loads of messages each day. The program groups each reply and sent message to the contact, you can see the messages by clicking right on the persons name in the contacts section of the mobile. This looks simliar to how Gmail does it, and a couple of new email programs. Because its seen as a easy way to talk with people, because everything is grouped together in a simple way. To be honest, this program would do wonders for people, well mostly girls who txt all day and night, and forget what they said to there friends, specially if they are to lazy to remeber what they sent, which is sometimes the common thing they do. Its in rare cases they forget, but from prevouise experiance when you are sending loads of txts in one day, you do kinda lose track of what you said, but in a way, this program would be useless, if you use seperate names for each of your friends many numbers, instead of grouping them into one contact name lma

Just updated to a new Nokia N95, i admit i have been robbed with the prices. But i do gets lots more texts and minutes, but the only problem is i wont really use them that much. I didnt use 500 texts let alone 1000 texts that i am going to get now, and the 600 minutes wont be used up that much quickly, but i dont really have a choice which is a pain. Even the Vodafone deals are bad at the moment, so where are the benefits at the moment ? Whats the point in upgrading :/ ?? Apart from getting a really decent phone, but end up paying loads for it. I could of stayed on my current minutes and texts but i might as well upgrade for the benefits, and get 400 more minutes and 1000 more texts for the cost, even though i wont really use them that quick. Plus if a friend wants to use my phone for texts i dont really care, since 1000 wont be used up all that quick really lol. But its just a shame that my minutes wont roll over anymore, but with 600 vs 200 its something different i geuss.
Its just i would of preferd the prevouise deals they where doing e.g.

Online 35 400min 500txt £89.99 £35
Longweekend – Free Answer Machine

Which would of been way better for me :D since its not as much money, and i get the same benefits as what i would be getting right now, free ITS, Voicemail, but the longweekend instead of the extra texts and minutes. Plus the phone would be the same price, and £35 is better then £40 a month really :/ But i didnt get a choice, i was talking with Stacey at the O2 upgrades service, so im peeved but i really dont get much of a choice, but least i can chat with a couple of people and not really care about the prices. But what i may do with the treats is put them forward for downloads instead of offpeak minutes lol.

I noticed a news heading on www.engadget.com earlyer today about a black N95 with a 8gb memory support. The news post reports that the images could of just been photoshop’d since 2 of the pictures had 8gb near the N95 title and 1 didnt, also there was a picture of the N95 in pink, with Hello Kitty on it lmao. But with the N91 Music Edition in Black holding 8gb of memory vs its normal 4gb first release N91 version. A lot of people are hopeing that the N95 will be updated with the other Music Edition to hold more memory. But with the N95 supporting 4gb Micro SD HC cards, theres nothing stopping it from haveing 8gb hc sd cards i geuss?

The pictures do look really nice though, and a black N95 would be very promiseing. But i wouldnt see many people going for a N95 ME edition unless it had something spectactular like the 8gb memory, even then it would cost a fortune to buy. Even at the moment the N95 is over £400 in value alone, higher then the N91 due to its features. But who knows, i know myself im just adding a 4gb sd hc to mine when i get it around the 21 of this month, but even then the 4gb will cost me around £50-60 to buy :/

Justamp.blogspot.com . justamp.blogspot.com

They where a couple of roumors ages ago that the N95 would accept 4GB memory cards, but no real proof since the cards where not even out and to make it worse Nokia still said it could only support 2GB since that was the maxuim size they sold. Which left it all in speculation, to which i never really thought all that much about it, but at the end of the day its just a firmware update away to support it anyway.

So about a month or so ago, i was walking around Grimsby since i reserved a camera case at Jessops lol. I had looked online for ages, searched numerouse websites and wasted countless hours lol. Well mostly because the camera case is really soft, durable, waterproof and my ex Olivia had one for her SLR when her orginal one strap broke, and allmost scratched her lense. So when we got back after christmas and i really wanted a new camera, we went to Jessops to have a look, and saw the cases that would fit her SLR camera. She has 2 lenses, a smaller normal one which is really good for marco closeups and a long distance one which was huge lol. But i really liked the padding, and it was super cool in my opion. So wanted something similar when i got my new camera a couple of weeks prior, specially since my old case had a couple of holes, plus if i dropped it the padding was non-existent lol. But while on a couple of the sites they offered the case at a discount if bought with the camera, the only problem was that the camera was more expensive and the case was a rip off price lol. So to behonest it was just a memory jogger to have a look for that brand case again, the lowerpro cases are really good, but they seemed the same as the one i allready have, really thin and just looked kinda crap. But i eventually got the same brand as Olivia, while haveing to search on ebay really, to find the Jessops link and another companys link, since Amazon where selling the red ones really cheap, but black and any other colour where not available unless you paid double the asking price. So i rang around a couple of Jessops stores and found out that the brand was dying really and only stocked in bigger stores. But eventually after calling 5 stores the Grimsby and Scarborough store had them in stock. I trusted the guy at Grimsby way more then the one at Scunthorpe, mainly because he knew what he was talking about, even though it was further away to get to and bridge toll. It was a nice day out for me, and i eventually found it, but realised i had set the TomTom to walking, instead of car, so it tried to get me to drive up a non car accessiable walkway lol. But did find the first car park me and Olivia had parked it, where the exit was all swirly to the bottom lol. Like the old slides at amusement parks where you walked up the steps and got on a matt and swirled all the way down lol.

It felt really weird, since i havent been since i was with Olivia, looking around and walking. I had set the AFTrack to keep track of my position, but forgot to change the settings to walking, so kinda knew half way through that the data would be near nothing, since it doesnt record if the speed is less then 10mph due to it being a car setting lol.

But back to the point lmao… I saw a poster in O2 in Grimsby when i was walking around in the shopping mall/centre, just out of boredom really, so i thought what the heck ask them how long i have left till i can upgrade my phone, so the news was disapointing, since it would 2-3 months still. But on the way out i noticed the poster saying about 4GB SD HC with the Nokia N95 spliting the 4GB down to 1GB parts for music, saterlite navigation and other things. So i re-checked a couple of sites and found out that the SanDisk 4GB works on the N95, so that will be the major upgrade for my phone. But since the 4GB are like £50-60 i dont think i will be getting the 8GB anytime soon really lol. Plus if you phone got stolen its a lot of money at the moment with that kind of space, but it sure beats the hell out of the iPhone since a 8GB expansion card would give you the same benefits just its not the main drive, just a sub one for your music and other stuff lol.

I bought a 4GB SD HC memory card a couple of weeks ago for my Panasonic TZ3, to make my life easyer without haveing to empty the memory card out a lot, which i would if i kept buying 1gb or 2gb SD cards. But when i orderd the card, i wanted the Kingston one, due to owning 2 SanDisk Mini cards, the first 1GB one worked ace in the N73 and out, but when i upgraded to the 2GB Mini card it just would not recognise with the media reader, which really bugged me :/ so i have to plug the N73 into my computer through the usb cable to copy or transfer stuff to my 2GB Mini card. Ah well, just hope the 4GB Micro will be better, or it will be going back! But the SanDisk 4GB SD HC is working great and the free usb stick to transfer the data to the pc is ace, just wish i could of got the v6 instead of the v4, which is a lot faster. But ah well, nothing i can do lol.
